Arcadia served as the primary contractor and coordinated the work with UIC’s Physical Facilities Department for the replacement of the existing curtain wall. Our team developed a system to provide the new cladding over the existing curtain wall framing. In addition, Arcadia had to keep the building water tight and secure throughout the re-cladding process as portions of the building were still operational. The new framing and glass was installed from the exterior off a suspended scaffold with custom anchorage designed to utilize the existing framing system after which the existing glass was removed.
